Programs

PYB’s Early Literacy Workshops is a 10-week reading program for students in grades K–4. Using an Infusion-Based Learning Model, the program integrates literacy with culture, community, sports, and social-emotional growth. Through instruction in phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension, paired with active, movement-based learning and family engagement, students build strong foundational reading skills while strengthening their attention, confidence, and a love of learning. Each session concludes with joyful choice reading using culturally responsive texts, helping students see themselves in books, imagine new possibilities, and develop positive reading identities.
