Programs

The PYB Junior Basketball Officials Academy is a free program for high school students who are currently or have previously been enrolled in a Philadelphia Youth Basketball program. Beginning in October and running through the end of March at the Sixth Man Center, this academy provides students with the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of refereeing from experienced officials while building leadership skills and confidence. Participants will also have the chance to earn money by refereeing games in PYB’s Middle School Partnership Program. This is a unique way to stay connected to the game of basketball, develop new skills, and gain real experience on the court — all at no cost to enroll.
